As the scheduling season rolls around, here are some general tips to consider when selecting your classes for next year:
1. Summer school is a great way of getting credits out of the way that interest you less (e.g. physical education, health, and computer application); thus, take the classes you don't care for over the summer, not the ones which you are passionate about.
2. Be sure to take into account your projected level of involvement in extracurricular activities (everything outside of school) next year. At the same time, however, don’t take an overly easy schedule simply out of a fear that you will be overly committed next year; the key is to strike a balance.
3. Don’t drop a class simply because you have heard that a particular teacher is difficult; be willing to try the class out for yourself, confidently and open-mindedly.
Above all, make sure that you have a parent signature on the form by the deadline. Failing to do so may force you to take classes that you don't want to take.

What summer school classes are being offered this summer?
First off, I wanted to apologize for taking so long to respond.
Traditionally, all core courses are taught, but no honors courses. The most popular courses are P.E., Health, and Computer Applications (now known I think as Internet Tech).
However, the official class schedule will not be available until March 1st.
If I were to take AZ/US Government over the summer, and take all weighted classes this upcoming school year, will that bump out one of my honors in the rank point calculations, or will an Honors elective take precedent?
I really wouldn't be worrying about that if I were you. Judging from the fact that you are thinking of taking AZ/US Gov, you seem to be planning for senior year next year. If that is the case, I don't believe an unlikely 1 point hit to your rank should be of concern. It is more important that you take the classes that you want to in the fields that interest you. If you are a junior that does not plan on graduating early, I would highly highly recommend waiting until senior year to take Gov.
Also, unless you have a conscious and sharp dislike of government and politics, I would highly recommend not taking that class over the summer. Generally speaking, summer school should be reserved for getting credits out of the way.
I'm not very familiar with the class rank system, so I am unable to answer your question. However, if you feel that it is absolutely necessary to know the answer, you should talk to your counselor.
